SAMBALPUR: In a bid to provide students with access to a range of free online courses and increase their chances of employment, Sambalpur University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Clicks Talent Connect Private Limited, based in Bengaluru. The deal was signed virtually between Vice Chancellor (VC) of Sambalpur University Sanjiv Mittal and firm manager Arasu T on June 17.

Sambalpur University Placement Officer Chinmaya Purohit said that Clicks Talent is a short course provider. “Following a series of discussions with the firm, we have selected courses that aim to improve the employability of students. There is a wide range of courses on the platform such as Resume Building, Group Discussions, Face-to-Face Interviewing, Communication Skills, Business Writing, and more. These courses will benefit the students by honing their skills,” he said.

All the necessary work in this regard is almost complete and the university authorities will probably share the link to the platform by next week. All Heads of Departments (HoDs) will be notified to inform students of the link. Any university student interested in enrolling in the courses can register through the link. Students will be able to download the course material. Clicks Talent will also conduct an online assessment and issue certificates to students after completing a course. The university will periodically monitor student enrollment, Purohit added.
