This healthy lifestyle program is an initiative of NSW Health for older people living at home who want to increase their confidence, knowledge and skills to lead active and healthy lives.

All you need is a computer or tablet with internet access and a space to exercise in your home.

This is a weekly program that runs for ten weeks during NSW school terms.

Each is a self-directed module on different healthy lifestyle topics and a home exercise program with continued access for twelve months after completion to help establish newly learned habits.

To help support motivation, participants receive a weekly phone call from a trained phone coach at a time convenient for them.

Recent Mid North Coast HALO participant Doris said after graduating from semester two in 2022, the program got her back on track with exercising regularly.

“It got me back on track with exercising regularly,” she said.

“It hit the nail on the head of what I wanted to achieve.

“It helped me establish a new routine that suits my work and life routine.

“The program was well presented, the information was short, not too difficult to read, but enough to learn something, and it was pleasant.

“I liked that it didn’t take long to complete the modules, which made it easier for me to do so.”

Registrations are open now.
